DAY 1 : STAGE 1

Vents del Cadí - Ref. Sant Jordi

Leave the car in the car park of Cal Cerdanyola (la Salle Natura).

Cross the Torrent dels Empedrats stream and cross it on the right along a wide path that goes up the course of the water (PR C-125). Pass in front of the Vents del Cadí hostel and follow the wide, marked path which, after a bridge, changes banks and immediately leaves the path on the left that goes up to the "Bullidor de la Llet" spring (recommended off-route visit).

The path enters the Forat d'Escriu gorge, an aesthetic ravine (to be watched out for in times of high water) that shows the remains of the old cobblestones that give this part of the route its name: "Els Empedrats" (the cobblestones).

Once you have passed the narrow pass, the path climbs alongside the river and through a thick forest, which is very pleasant on hot days.

In about two and a half hours you will reach the Sant Jordi Refuge, the end of the stage, an open and sunny place.

DAY 2 : STAGE 2

Ref. Sant Jordi - Ref Prat d'Aguiló (Pic Comabona)

You leave the refuge on the GR 107 and ascend to the Coll de Pendís where you take the GR 150.1 again and on the ridge you enter the Sierra del Cadí. This stage is full of alpine meadows and the spectacular north face of Cadí.

The path takes you to the Coll de Tanca la Porta and you continue along the GR until you come across some green marks that follow the ridge without difficulty until you reach the Pic de Comabona (2,554 m). Comabona is the highest peak of Cadí Oriental. Feeling under your feet the great cliff that falls plummeting over the Cerdanya is worth not missing this ascent.

Descend looking for the most obvious path towards the GR to the well-known Pas de Gosolans, a historical pass between the municipalities of Gósol and Bellver de Cerdanya. The spring that we find near the pass is an exception in this limestone mountain range characterised by the lack of water in the upper part, and from here a direct descent with a very rocky and eroded initial stretch takes us to our destination: the Prat d'Aguiló refuge. The rocky slope of the descent contrasts with the alpine meadows that surround the refuge, and the terrace of the refuge, facing the north face of Cadí, invites you to spend hours contemplating this spectacular spot.

DAY 3 : STAGE 3

Ref. Prat d'Aguiló - Ref. Molí de Gósol (Pic Costa Cabirolera)

We leave the refuge and take the path we descended yesterday towards Pas de Gosolans.

At the pass we take the GR 150.1 heading west towards Cortal dels Cortils and Pic de Costa Cabirolera (2,605 m).

The ascent to the peak is along a path that is not very well marked and runs along the mountain range of the Sierra del Cadí. We go around the head of a valley and losing some height the path goes to a rocky area on the eastern slope of the mountain through which we will access the crest. In less than half an hour you will reach the summit of the highest peak in Berguedà and the province of Barcelona.

We descend along the same path to the Cortal dels Cortils where we take an aesthetic path that first climbs some 300 metres and then descends to a track to the "Collell". Here we follow the GR 150 to the village of Gósol.

To get to the Molí we must get to the Plaza Mayor of Gósol and go down to the roundabout at the exit of the village in the direction of Berga. Take the road that goes down towards the campsite. You will see a sign indicating the path to the Molí, which goes past the cemetery. We continue down the road, after 800 metres we cross a stream and after 100 metres we reach our destination. You can walk along the road but it is longer. El Molí is outside and far from the village but the tranquillity of the place is worth the last effort.

DAY 4 | STAGE 4

Ref. Molí de Gósol - Ref Lluís Estasen (Pic Pedraforca)

We leave the Molí and return to the village of Gósol and take the signs for the local PR C-123 path which, climbing steadily, takes us directly to "L'Enforcadura" or Pedraforca pass.

The access to the summit is from the southern slope. The path is marked and from the pass it is just over 150 metres to the summit. There is no technical difficulty but we must pay attention to the people descending this slope. The summit offers a gratifying visual spectacle. Here we will be able to recognise the traces of these days of walking. You will be able to see the whole of the Cadí-Moixeró mountain range.

The descent is made along the same path to l'Enforcadura and then down the path of the tartera to the Lluís Estasen refuge.

DAY 5 | STAGE 5

Ref. lluís Estasen - Ref. Vents del Cadí

We leave the refuge and take the signs for the local PR C-124 path heading south, which takes us directly to the Mirador del Gresolet viewpoint. Follow the PR to Saldes, a village with all the services, where you can take advantage of any last minute needs. We leave the PR and go down towards the east until we cross the river on a track (Molí de Cal Ferrer).

We look for the path that initially crosses a ravine (Torrent de Llúria) and we enter a very little frequented stretch, the Estrets de Llúria. The path climbs steadily up to the Coll de Llúria, a pass in the middle of pine woods that soon changes slope and takes you to a new pass: the Coll de la Bena. Without reaching the latter, continue downhill along a path between a group of houses (Cal Tasconet). After crossing the road that ends without an exit a few metres from where we are, we continue along a marked uphill path known as the "Volta Voltrera".

There are several points where we stop to contemplate the views of Pedraforca and the valley that opens up in front of us. You pass a viewpoint set up by the Cadí Moixeró Natural Park and continue along a track that soon becomes a beautiful downhill path with endless zig-zags that takes you straight to the Vents del Cadí Refuge. Here you can enjoy a good meal that Fran will undoubtedly offer you: mountain rice or some incredible macaroni with chorizo sausage. Don't forget to book the day before by phone or WhatsApp at 686 40 88 88 90 (there is no time limit for lunch).
