We will live an exciting mountain adventure through some of the most spectacular places in the Pyrenees. Are you coming to conquer the high route of the Perdidos with me?
There are places where the mountain is pure art and walking is an exercise of vital inspiration. Nothing is there by chance. Colors, textures, lines, shapes, what is seen and what is not seen, what is today and what was yesterday... Everything responds to a dynamic and changing order. Let's walk through the heart of the Pyrenees. Let's read mountains by the hand of Asier Hilario and Alberto Iñurrategi.
Few places on Earth allow us to understand the architecture, shape and dynamics of the mountains as the massif of Monte Perdido. The cirque of Gavarnie, the glacial valleys of Ordesa and Pineta, the ibon of Marboré or the glacier of the imposing Vignemale are just some of the great natural monuments of this exceptional geological tour through the heart of the Pyrenees. Are you coming on a geological route on this author's journey?
He holds a doctorate in Geology. His admiration for the Pyrenees led him to do his doctoral thesis in the mountains of Benasque. For the last 15 years he has been dedicated to the interpretation and communication of Earth sciences, guiding groups and giving conferences and courses around the world. He is known for his work in the Flysch of the UNESCO World Geopark of the Basque Coast, but his true inspiration has always been in the mountains of the Pyrenees. He defends the intellectual approach to the mountains as a vital exercise of freedom and humility to look beyond the landscape and be surprised by the passage of time.
"We will live a thrilling mountain adventure through some of the most spectacular places in the Pyrenees. Are you coming to conquer the high route of the Perdidos with me?"
An icon of Basque mountaineering and a reference in the panorama of the great mountains, he has become the youngest mountaineer to win the 14 eight-thousanders. He has also been able to transmit the value of mountaineering through carefully crafted documentaries, books and slideshows that reveal his deep respect for this activity. "Over the years and the mountains, my concept of home has moved from the space that is home to my family to the places that I travel, driven by a passion that does not diminish. If, first, I sought my place in the Himalayan mountains, I have now found it in the Pyrenees: don't their peaks have the design of a house? the peak represents a roof, a ceiling: it is impossible to leave its margins. The gateway, at the end of a valley, allows us to take our first steps. And everything in between comforts us, teaches us to overcome difficulties, to understand each other and to belong to something, it connects us to the roots we all need".
DAY 1
Arrival and reception at Bujaruelo Refuge.
Arrival at the Bujaruelo Mountain Hut, where we will welcome you, introduce ourselves and have an explanatory talk. At this meeting point we will give you the welcome pack, we will see the details of the route, the conditions of the mountain, and we will teach you how to use the geolocator safety device that you will have at your disposal during the whole itinerary. Here you will be able to solve any last minute doubts you may have. And from here begins the fantastic adventure that will take us through some of the most spectacular landscapes of the Pyrenees. All this enlivened with a welcome snack.
DAY 2 : STAGE 1
From Bujaruelo Mountain Hut to Góriz Mountain Hut.
From Bujaruelo we cross the Roman bridge and ascend following the red and white markings that indicate the GR 11 as far as the Puerto de Bujaruelo pass. Here we follow the sign that leads us to the Refugio de la Brecha de Rolando. Once in the Brecha we descend towards the Collado del Descargador through the Paso de los Sarrios. Here we will find the first technical step of the route with some chains that help us in its progression. There is an alternative path from the Brecha itself to avoid this pass. From the Collado del Descargador we continue towards the plain to reach the Góriz Refuge.

DAY 3 | STAGE 2
From the Góriz Refuge to the Parador de Bielsa in Pineta.
We leave Góriz following the GR 11 markings that gradually climb to the Collado Superior de Góriz. At this point we leave the GR 11 that descends to the Añisclo Canyon and take the milestones in a north-easterly direction that take us through the Faja de las Olas to the Collado de Añisclo, where we also find an area of chains that help us in our progression. To avoid this technical step we can descend to the Fuen Blanca, and then ascend to the Collado de Añisclo. We carefully descend the long and demanding descent from the Collado de Añisclo to the 3* Parador de Bielsa in Pineta.

DAY 4 | STAGE 3
From the Parador de Bielsa in Pineta to the Espuguettes Refuge.
From Pineta we follow the National Park signs to the Balcón de Pineta and Lago de Marboré. We continue skirting the lake on the right towards the Tucarroya Gap and Refuge. We climb up to the gap and from here we descend along a steeply sloping channel with many loose rocks that require us to descend with caution. If there is snow, the difficulty increases and it is essential to use ice axes and crampons. There is also an alternative variant via Puerto Nuevo de Pineta that avoids this technical pass. Once we descend from the Rolando Gap we head towards the Horquette d'Alans along an uphill path. Descend to the Espuguettes Refuge where we will enjoy unbeatable views.
